I think that the art in Unit 3 will be heavily based off of religious beliefs. I think that there will be a recession is the quality of art during the Dark Ages and the increase in strict religious (mostly Christian) values. The art will probably be mostly for worship, conversion, teachings. Because most people were illiterate, it was probably important to find other ways to get the morals and teachings of Christ or other religious figures to the general public, especially because the bible was usually translated in Latin. I'm not sure what to expect for the areas of the world such as the Middle East or, anywhere other than Europe, but I assume that they also begin to become more and more fascinated with the spiritual and theological side of artwork.
1. What does the wall tell us about the Zimbabwe people (the Bantu- another Star Wars reference) themselves? Were they organized? Were they literate? What can we tell about the people by studying the wall's purpose and construction? Categories
