Neo-Confucianism is the more modernized Confucianism as it became a search for absolute truth in nature and it's own self-cultivation. This seems to be almost a mixture of Confucianism (the self-cultivation and bringing up oneself) and Buddhism (finding truth through nature and one's surroundings as they are all connected). Travelers by Streams and Mountains by Fan Kuan emulates this as his work depicts large but organized nature and the universe and man's existence within this universe in harmony. The landscape is very similar to the early Northern Song style, but it stands for a greater meaning of universal creation in it's entirety as one can see the hugeness of the various aspects of nature as well as the two small men with their donkeys within this hugeness. |

1. What does the wall tell us about the Zimbabwe people (the Bantu- another Star Wars reference) themselves? Were they organized? Were they literate? What can we tell about the people by studying the wall's purpose and construction? Categories
